Seminar of "Shock to Traditional Physiotherapy Believe - No ice please?! " cum Biennial General Meeting
Background:
As this batch of committee for 2014-2016 is finishing their work soon, we invite you to celebrate what we have contributed to the profession and to the community. In our biennial general meeting you will have a chance to witness the formation of the new committee for the year 2016-18, and exchange ideas about sports physiotherapy with fellow colleagues.
Apart from general reports from our chairperson and treasurer, we also look forward to the sharing from a very experienced physiotherapist, Mr. Alain CHU, about the pros and cons, and the controversial issues in applying ice as a treatment modality. This is an interesting topic and we believe this can provide us different views and thoughts. Alain will base on the scientific evidences and his extensive practical experience in the presentation, to share with you the best approach in dealing with this issue.

Combined Level 1 Sports Physiotherapist / Level 1 Sports Trainer by Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA)
The Australian Physiotherapy Association (APA) and Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) have jointly developed a two day course for Physiotherapists working in sport which covers techniques and skills relevant to both clinical Physiotherapy situations and also sports event coverage. The course is a combination of two highly demanded courses successfully delivered in Australia for Physiotherapists wishing to work in Sports Physiotherapy. The combined course has been structured to include basic competencies for Sports Physiotherapists as described in the IFSPT Sports Physical Therapy Competencies and Standards. Usually each of these courses is a full two day course however by combining common course components and incorporating an online pre-reading and assessment component what is usually 4 days of training have been combined into this 2 day course.
